Group Creation Tips

Research
~Before you create a group you should use grouple or the group search to see how popular or unpopular your idea is.

Make it Unique
~Think of something you can do to make your group “different” from others with the same or similar topic.
~Things like: help blogs, features, competitions, info on the topic, weekly themes, challenges, memes etc.

Avatar
~An avatar will attract people to your group.
            ~ The avatar should relate to the group
-Use pictures and text that relates to both the name and the theme
-Include the group name on the avatar

Name
~Names should have some relation to your theme
-Try and make the name catchy or smart
-It should be easy to remember

About the group
~Remember to put information here about what your group is about and use common key words, this help when searching. (Although grouple is here to help make this simpler so it’s not that important)
  
Affiliate
~Don’t be afraid to affiliate with other groups.
~Affiliate with groups related to your theme.
~Affiliate with grouple, after all we accept all automatically.

Tell grouple once created
~Comment on the group or grouple related to your group and we will add it to a list.

Recruit Members
~Invite people who have an interest in your theme
- You can easily send them a note on their page.
- Do not force the person into joining.
- Do not hassle the person
- Only send an invitation ONCE
- If they don’t wish to join it doesn’t matter, life goes on.
- Give a general description of your group
- Include the link to your group with its avatar :icon name of group here:
(leave out the spaces)

Example 1:

<Begin with a friendly and kind introduction >
Hello,
I have seen that you are interested in Theme of your group and was wondering if you would like to join my group :icon name of group here:.
<say a little bit about what your group does, what it’s about, what makes it unique>

In title of group  
(we do …..we collect …we create ….We love…We hate
Best of all…etc. Just highlight interesting bits, invitations have to be short)

It is okay if you do not wish to join
(this doesn’t put pressure on the person)

~your dev user name

Set and display rules
~Clearly list the rules members of your group must follow.

Stay active
~You are responsible for managing your group so you should either be active a lot
Or ask for people to help.
~Ask if people would like to help in the group, admin like co-founders help with the general things like blogs.
~Make sure people can actually join if they click the join button unless it is invite only.
~If it’s invite only you should clearly state it on the page somewhere.

Be involved
~Ask for other member’s ideas
~Try and include suggestions given by members
